Modulaire Group and Willmott Dixon named finalists for Sustainable Supply Chain Award
Modulaire Group and Willmott Dixon have been announced as finalists for The SSI SCHAFER Sustainable Supply Chain Award at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2026, recognising a two-year programme delivering lower cost and lower carbon solar-powered site welfare.
The shortlisted entry recognises an innovative collaboration between Modulaire Group’s Advanté team and Willmott Dixon, deploying Oasis EcoLogic Solar welfare units across 146 UK construction projects. The modular units provide canteens, offices, toilets, and drying rooms, powered primarily by renewable energy, with roof-mounted solar panels, battery storage, and low-carbon LPG backup.
Over two years, the solar fleet ran on renewable energy for almost 90% of operating time, including in winter, delivering a lower-carbon welfare model that has saved Willmott Dixon £450,000 and more than 1,000 tonnes of carbon by eliminating diesel use.
Inder Poonaji, ESG & Sustainability Director at Modulaire Group, said: “Decarbonising the supply chain is not something any one business can do alone. It takes partnership, shared ambition and practical innovation, which is why we are so proud of our work with Willmott Dixon. Our circular approach and sustainable modular solutions are designed to accelerate the transition to net zero. They are making a difference, helping customers to cut carbon and cost today.”
Jo Charles, National Head of Sustainability at Willmott Dixon, said: “This Sustainable Supply Chain Award nomination is excellent recognition of our partnership with Modulaire Group. Our target is to achieve zero carbon across our sites and offices by 2030, which means finding practical ways to reduce emissions from our everyday operations. By replacing diesel-powered welfare cabins with solar-powered units, we have delivered significant carbon and cost savings across 146 projects. It shows what can be achieved when we work with our supply chain to develop proven solutions and apply them at scale.”
Winners for The SSI SCHAFER Sustainable Supply Chain Award will be announced at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards Gala Evening on Thursday 5 November 2026 in London. The full shortlist places Willmott Dixon and Modulaire Group alongside leading organisations advancing sustainable supply chain performance, operational resilience and environmental responsibility across the UK and Europe.
